Sherlyn Chopra was born in Hyderabad, India in 1984 to a Christian father George Amitabh Chopra and Muslim mother Susan Aamir.She has a brother, Amitabh Chopra, a computer Engineer working in Auckland, New Zealand and a sister, Sharon Aamir, who works as a Disc Jockey.She attended Stanley Girls High School and St. Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam. It was during college that she won the Miss Andhra contest.She was a school topper, but after gradually losing interest in her studies, she turned her attention to films.

In November 2012 she will appear on the coverpage of Playboy magazine.She has been introduced as the 'Bollywood Goddess Sherlyn Chopra', by the magazine.
